Siena's famous Chigiana classical music season nears its close with a concert of music by Beethoven. Gianluigi Gelmetti conducts while Uto Ughi, one of Italy's most distinguished violinists, is the soloist in the Violin Concerto in D major, Opus 61. The second half of the programme is dedicated to that most famous of symphonies, Beethoven's Fifth. The venue is a theatre which is situated in Siena's spectacular Piazza del Campo, across the road from a travel insurance office building.
