Chicago's Historic Pumping Station - sister to the landmark Water Tower - offers an opportunity budget dining and people-watching. This popular spot for oven-baked sandwiches, flatbread pizzas and salads has opened an 85-seat outdoor café with views of Magnificent Mile. Housed in a three-season tent, it will remain open through the autumn. Sandwiches include the 'Grilled Cheese Sammie' with Gruyere, Swiss, cheddar, mozzarella, roasted tomatoes and fresh basil. Other selections include Asian chicken, Caesar and Cobb salads and potato chips glazed with cheese sauce and crumbled blue cheese. Wine and beer available.
