An important retrospective exhibition of the American avant-garde artist Duane Michals opens at the Contemporary Art Gallery. Mestre Michal's work of the period 1958-96 embraces photography, poetry and painting, and the portraits, self-portraits and illustrated texts on show present a fascinating insight into the mind and methods of this most original artist.
